Printing and Framing of an exhibition
Since closing to entries on the 31st January 2014 judging has been taking place and with thousands of images from around the world being entered, decisions at every stage have been very difficult to make. 400 images made it to our shortlist and we were thrilled to reveal a full gallery of the shortlisted images in late March.
Big decisions of who will be our category winners and overall winner still rages on. Whilst that takes place each of the 100+ finalist images are now being printed and framed by our sponsors One Vision Imaging at their headquarters based in Coventry ready for our exciting 2014 exhibition to take place at The Mall Galleries, London.
One Vision Imaging is one of the largest professional photographic laboratories to be found in the UK. For well over 40 years they have been servicing professional photographers and image makers with the very highest standards of processing and finishing. As experts in their field they not only frame for individuals requiring bespoke pieces but they also frame commercially for pubs, restaurants, hotels and retailers.
For the exhibition in April the images will be printed on a large format laser driven photographic printer producing optimum print quality. They will then be flush mounted onto card before applying a textured window mount surrounding the image. The final stage is the frame itself fully glazed for that perfect presentation.
The framed images will then be carefully transported to The Mall Galleries London where the Events and Production teams will work to create our third international food photography exhibition. The exhibition opens to the public on Thursday 24th April 2014 and runs until Sunday 27th April 2014.
Derek Poulston is the Managing Director of One Vision Imaging and we asked him to take a look at the 400 shortlisted images and pick out some highlights.
He said he was enjoying looking through all of the fabulous images it was difficult to choose but he said that his favourites so far were;
