Jenny is a talented portrait, wedding and commercial photographer, and food has also always played a big part in her life. With her new focus on food photography and a fiancé who works as head chef at a successful local restaurant, it’s safe to say the art of food will feature heavily in Jenny’s future, too! Working closely with food and drink producers, farms, chefs, artisans, cheese producers, bakeries, restaurants and hotels across the UK, Jenny has been making strides in the food photography world this past year, and soon realised she needed a dedicated website to showcase her ever-growing portfolio of mouth-watering images.

While Jenny is an experienced photographer and trainer, she is also a self-confessed non-techie. So a Zenfolio site for her new food photography pursuits was the natural choice to help her get up and running quickly:

“I’ve worked closely with the Zenfolio team for years as part of my role at Aspire so I was already familiar with how fantastic their sites can look. But not having set one up myself before, my excitement also came with a few nerves! Would I be able to do it myself, would it take me months, and would it look as good as the examples I had seen? As soon as I got started though, my nerves quickly vanished.

Using one of the fantastic built-in presets as a starting point, within just a few short hours I was already impressed by the look of my new site. Like anything new, there’s always going to be a learning curve, but it was a quick and intuitive process to get everything up and running. While learning how to navigate the site I was free to play around to my heart’s content and preview the changes as I went. Changes that I liked would get published, while those I didn’t like would be discarded without fear of ruining the live site.

For me and my brand, my photography is the most important thing above anything; key words that I live by are simplistic and timeless, and my new Zenfolio website certainly matches these criteria. As I look to expand the site and begin selling further down the line, it also gives me peace of mind to know that my site is integrated with our favourite print lab (and official Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year print-provider), One Vision Imaging.  

I’m very much looking forward to expanding my site over the year and continuing to work closely with the Zenfolio and Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year teams to help raise awareness of the art and diversity of food photography. We’re already excited for the 2017 awards - it’s shaping up to be the best year yet!”
