Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year, now in its fifth year, has fast established itself as the world’s leading awards celebrating the art and diversity of food photography and film.

We are very proud of our strong Australian connections. Not only is our headline sponsor Pink Lady®, the premium apple brand which originates in Australia, but our eminent judging panel has been graced with top Australian names.

This year, we are extremely honored to have as a judge Curtis Stone, the superstar chef. Last year, Gary Mehigan, chef presenter of MasterChef Australia was on the panel and before that, the legendary Donna Hay who has single-handedly influenced a global style of food photography.

In 2015, photographer David Griffen, who hails from Adelaide, scooped the much-coveted title of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2015 with his stunning image, Smoked Wings, of a street chef in Kuala Lumpur. This image has since been reproduced numerous times around the world.

The category dedicated to wine photography, Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year, was also won by an Australian photographer, Victor Pugatschew, for his highly creative shot, Pinot Noir Being Pressed.

Past Australian Finalists whose work has been shown at the internationally prestigious Mall Galleries, London, include Louise Lister, Rachelle Davey and Craig Kinder.

In fact, Craig flew over from Perth for the Winners’ Reception and ended up getting involved in the food photography master classes in the following days:

“I was very pleased to hear I was a Finalist in 2015 and then debated as to whether to fly from Australia to London for the Winners’ Reception at the Mall Galleries. I really enjoyed it and have also often thought about the food photography workshop I attended. It was an inspiring experience.”
